Foto Friday 7

Dr Pepper, a main staple of my diet for eons.  Over the years I have switched to Diet Dr Pepper, but I remain true to the pop.  I have never been able to drink coffee; although I have tried many times.  So I have to get my caffeine from somewhere.  This mural is located in a nearby town, and I've seen it a hundred times and never thought to stop and really look at it.   If you want to know what the numbers 10, 2 and 4 mean, and also a little history on this sugary drink- check that out here!

Double rainbow after a storm. Painting in the sky.

Thankful for life carried on, but scared about their future.  Meet Bo, my newest great grand.  Isn't he just the cutest?  This makes three greats!

My sister brought this back for me; a Chili Ristra, from New Mexico.  She said they are for good luck and good health.  Ok then, bring it!

Bo is beautiful! Is Bo short for something? The rainbow is God's painting for sure. Looks like it is even showing despite clouds! Our son has been hooked on Dr. Pepper for decades! At Easter, I even found him some Dr. Pepper Peeps! This mural makes me think of the 50's.

Congrats on Bo!!!!!! I don't have a "great" yet, but I think it must be wonderful! As a teenager I used to drink Dr. Pepper, but I don't drink soda at all anymore. Kind of sad!

What a delightful selection - and thanks for the history lesson. No pop here. I get my caffeine from week tea.
Any day is improved by a rainbow, and a double rainbow? Wow.
Love your great grand - and luck and good health never go astray.

The mural is rustic and original. Good peeling paint there.

Congratulations! Bo is adorable! Dr. Pepper sign is an "oldie" but "goodie". When I was growing up pop was something you had when you ate out. Soda wasn't a staple in the kitchen cabinets or kept in the garage. Now a days seems like it is a daily drink. When company comes guests are offered pop, water, tea or coffee. Price has gone sky high. It is in line with drinking beer now. My one grandson prefers water doesn't touch Dr. Pepper of any soft drink. Lucky him! Myself, I need the caffeine jolt.

Congratulations on the newest great grand. He is a fine looking baby.

I grew up in New Mexico. I love ristras. They are beautiful. I haven't had one in years though so I will just enjoy the photo of yours.

I love rainbows and your double is gorgeous.

Growing up out west I didn't know anybody who drank Dr. Pepper. I moved to Texas and it was all the rage. I drank diet dr pepper for years but quit for the sole reason that it was so foamy so I am more of coke zero kind of dude now.

Your great grand is adorable! Such a treasure! I have someone in this house who has been a fan of Coca Cola and doesn’t drink coffee either, or any hot drink for that matter. He will drink Pepsi every now and again but coke has always been his first love, lol. These old advertisements on buildings are works of art. I never knew about Chili Ristra‘s, though I have seen them on trips to the south west. I love New Mexico! Hope to go back sometime. That’s a great rainbow picture.

Babies teach us hope! They tell us there is a future!

In the end, everything is goingt to be okay. We keep going, breath in and breath out, we watch what is happening but never lose hope.

All the best to you and your family and little Bo.

Beautiful rainbow. And so true about the future. But I think every generation has had many of the same thoughts. Congrats on Bo!

the pharmacy mural is awesome, really lasting the test of time. my son is a pharmacist, i am going to send this to him!

the ever curious me, had to know about the numbers and found the explanation to be very interesting and quite clever. it's probably true for those that drink a sugary soda!!

bo, so beautiful but he may be a handful. look how awake and alert he is. not crying, just taking it all in!!

i REALLY enjoyed seeing you today!!

i didn’t drink coffee until my early 50s but decided that I didn’t want to be a misfit any longer. Well, I remain a misfit but not in that way. 😀 Anyway, it seemed that coffee became part of being sociable sometime in my lifetime. So, I started with 3x cream plus 3x sugar. That got me started, and I ended up with 2x cream with no sugar. 10% cream, of course, not that 5% stuff for me. 😀

What a precious little bundle of joy! Love the old building you've shown. I was born in Arkansas and love these reminders!

Congratulations on the birth of your third great-grandchild.
Love the double rainbow, never seen one before.
That mural is an oldie, but still actual. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals.

What an uplifting post. You have a lovely great grandchild. So nice to be in the right place and time to capture a double rainbow.

Of course, I came to see the mural and it is a beauty. I like Dr. Pepper much better than Coke. However, I get my caffeine from coffee, which I drink 24/7. Still, I LOVE that mural and honoring Dr. Pepper.
