Eagle Sighting

I finally got to see the eagle that has been sighted by others around my home.
He's been seen flying over the bean field, and sitting on top of a dead tree near the highway.
But yesterday I happened to see this huge bird flying over my pond.
First time ever to see one so close.  I am in awe of its beauty.

Random Critters

I swear they can hear me breathe a mile away.

Dakota & Lil Man
are decidedly tired of this Arkansas heat & humidity.

I have no idea what kind of egret/heron this is.
The curved beak...I don't know. I know he's blurry, but any ideas?  He's new to my pond.

This fella was in a dead tree a long way out in the field.
I so wanted him to be an eagle, but I couldn't see with the naked eye.   Oh well, he looks tough up there, doesn't he?  Ready to pounce on any unsuspecting field mice.

Saturday's Critters ~ A Bird is A Word

This little warbler has been feasting off of the dried up berries on my fruitless pear tree.  He looks just like I feel after all the holiday parties and dinners.

Saturday Birds

I love this great blue heron's square neck reflection.  I rarely see one wading in deeper water.

I know some of you are already knee deep in snow, but I am so glad that Fall is finally here.  I'm loving the cooler weather.   Storms are coming tonight or tomorrow, and we do need the rain, but the nice chill on sunny days  didn't last long enough for me.

The canadian geese are still dropping by, even though the water level in the pond is so low.   Bet they are hitting their heads on the  bottom when they flip for fish.  :)
