Saturday Birds

I love this great blue heron's square neck reflection.  I rarely see one wading in deeper water.

I know some of you are already knee deep in snow, but I am so glad that Fall is finally here.  I'm loving the cooler weather.   Storms are coming tonight or tomorrow, and we do need the rain, but the nice chill on sunny days  didn't last long enough for me.

The canadian geese are still dropping by, even though the water level in the pond is so low.   Bet they are hitting their heads on the  bottom when they flip for fish.  :)

Hello,
That is a cool heron reflection. It is not often I see the herons wading in deeper water. We could use some more rain here too. But, I do not want snow. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend. PS, thank you for the visit and leaving a comment on my blog.

The cool weather has been a relief hasn't it? What a brutal summer we had.
Loved the square heron.

That square neck reflection is funny! I never see them wading that deeply, either.

Yes, it's nice to finally be getting some Fall weather!

The reflection in that first shot is great. Georgia is short on rainfall, too but we did have an all day rain yesterday. These crisp mornings and clear blue skies are part of the reason fall is my favorite season. Thanks for dropping by the blog. Have a good evening.

I wonder why the neck reflection squared like that in the photo. You and me both - I have been waiting for fall and the cooler chilled temperatures - that is my favorite. Sandie

Oh, I love those geese, but their honk is LOUD, letting their loved ones know someone is near. The Great Blue Heron is a grand bird, and I often wonder why he's called blue, as he doesn't look blue in the pictures.

Enjoy these wonderful Fall days, Terri. We still have a lot of Autumn here too. Your photos are awesome.

That is such a good picture of the Heron. Our little pond was way down too. It was very dry here up until a week or so ago when a couple of fronts coming through brought us rain. Poppy always worries that the pond will get too low and kill the fish.

Thanks for stopping by my blog...It's been a long time since I came over to your blog too.
I'm loving Fall finally making it's appearance around here in the Sacramento Valley.
We have a few geese that have settled permanently in a small pond a few blocks from our home.
I love the sound of them calling as they fly over.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
