The sun lately is no joke sizzling. I'm already exhausted from the heat and humidity and it is barely July yet. After being in the house for three weeks with bronchitis, I did not even want to venture outdoors, but groceries had to be bought and it had to be done.
Today I am thankful for the cool air and rain that came and went, and vegetables fresh from the garden. Our tomatoes have finally started filling out, but blossom end rot almost got them for sure. Now the cut worms have arrived, and what in the heck causes this??:

Sometimes you just have to laugh when your efforts are stymied at every turn. Too much water, not enough water, not enough calcium and now whatever this is. Surely one of y'all are super gardeners and can tell me what in the world this is caused by. Of course we are going to eat them anyways :)

That is a gorgeous sunset!
I am so glad we are in winter and not summer. Stay as cool as you can. I am clueless about the mutant matoes though.
i need to be grateful for the weather up here. It hasn’t been too hot for too long, and it also hasn’t been either too dry or too wet for too long. Mind you, it was dry enough in early June to cause a local forest fire.
What a beautiful sunset. It's been pretty warm here, but not that hot in the mountains. But I hear it's going to be a hot weekend. That's wonderful that you have home grown tomatoes. I hope you are feeling better with the bronchitis. I had it a few times when I was growing up, and it's awful. I'm glad you got some rain. And Snoopy gets to me every time. ; )

**thank you for sharing the name Grace. I've always loved that name too.
Sorry about that bronchitis and I hope it won’t be long before you feel 100 percent. Your photo is stunning! I hear you about the heat. I am grateful for air-conditioning, that’s for sure. It is 94 here today. I haven’t grown any tomatoes in years. I envy your fresh produce from your own garden and hope you can get rid of those things. I’ll be reading your comment section as I would really enjoy growing my own sometime. That’s a lovely thought of the day. Feel better and stay cool :)
Tomatoes seem to do their own thing and I never know what to expect. The weather conditions just makes them grow differently each year.
Just cut that end off and enjoy the fruits of your labor! They're nice and big and I bet juicy. Homegrown tomatoes! I remember those -- now we have to rely on Farmers' Market ones. It's too early here in Oregon yet. But soon.
Stay cool.

I have used epsom salts mixed with water for blossom end rot in the past, although some people say that is a no go? But, I hope you find a solution. Tomatoes are my favorite garden item! Thank you for linking up and have a great weekend.
Such a beautiful sunset. Thank you!
We should swap, it's mid Winter here.
It has certainly been hot lately. We love tomatoes but the cutworms drive us crazy.
Oh how terrible to be sick in the summer. What a beautiful sunset.
I hope you get back to yourself soon.
I wish I knew what caused tomatoes to do that. I never have.
We are getting heat now. I always think I am prepared, but alas I am not.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday.
Beautiful, and perfectly represents the heat wave that many of us are experiencing!
it is so hot in new jersey and the humidity has been off the charts. we are in the middle of a heat wave and my body is not loving it!!
i didn't grow tomatoes this year. i feel like i spent $ 300.00 watering the garden last year and i only got about 3 tomatoes. that is indeed an exaggeration but watering in the heat is no fun. the hubs said he will take me to the farmers market whenever i want!!
that sunset is gorgeous!!
Glorious sunset!
Love the photo.
Beautiful blog
...we need to remember these hot days when it's cold this winter!
So beautiful!
It will be hot for us come December when summer arrives here.
