This is a photo from the mid 1800's of a young man standing beside a plate holder for a printing press. The location would be Richmond, Arkansas. It's not too far off from the theme this Saturday, seeing how both a printing press and a typewriter need ink to strike the words and tell the story.

Indeed, it is a nice match! :)
What a gorgeous image.
The old photos are such treasures. I remember going through my mom's old black and whites, and wondering what the story was behind the photo. The sepia ones are nice too. Reminds me of the 1800's, my favorite era. : )

Ink is indeed an appropriate match for our theme. When I looked at your photo, my first thought was Samuel Clemens, aka Mark Twain, first worked as an apprentice printer and typesetter like this boy. Since Clemens loved gadgets, I suspect he owned a typewriter, but I believe all his stories were written in longhand on paper.
Nice find. Photos that old are so rare!
