Foto Friday ~ 13

The summer heat is wrecking havoc on my redbud tree.  Several lichen and fungus have made themselves at home.  The top one is Old Man's Beard, but I don't know what the bottom ones are.  Either way, I need to get it off of my tree.  Any ideas, besides scraping?  I tried that and the bark comes off with it.

Little Man is wondering if anyone is ever going to bushhog the field.  I think it's so high it is tickling his belly. Foreground is what's left of an old fence, and it reminded me of an meme that some of us long time bloggers used to participate in...Good Fences!, y'all remember that one?   There was one with barns to that I really enjoyed.  Ahh, the good old days!

Back indoors, where the A/C is blasting, this is our supper.  Keto, as good as it gets- to not have a hamburger bun.  Yummy!  I love the pizza bowls too.

I sure have enjoyed our martins this year.  I am thankful that they have multiplied, and survived.  Sadly, they have all left and even the fly-bys and stop-overs have stopped coming by.  It's time to head south.
The dragonflies made haste to return in full force, and flock around me while I mow. It's funny how they know it's safe to come around again!

I guess that is enough for this week's photo dump. I hope everyone is having a good week!

Yes, I remembered.ember taking part in the good fences blog hop. A wee while ago now. I can't help with the fungus problem but know that old man's bed is a real pest of a thing. Hope someone can help you. Have a good week.

I like the second photo of the post and fence remnants although the horse might actually be distracting in this case although it is still interesting to see.

Look at all the Martins!! The times we tried putting up houses they only attracted bluebirds, which really isn't a bad thing since they eat mosquitoes, too.

That is a strange looking fungus growing on the tree. Your burger looks good., even without a bun. I would love to see the dragonflies in your area. They always fascinate me.

Have a wonderful August, Terri.

I love the video! All the Martins! We put up a Martin house a few years ago but only get purple finches and another little bird. We probably live too much in the woods and don't have a field. I have never seen a fungus like that. It's strange looking. The picture of the field and old fence is so pretty and the horse just adds to the beauty.

At our former VA home we had a birdhouse for the Martins and we also enjoyed watching them swirl around. The hamburger without the bun looked delicious "as is." Sorry, but no knowledge of what would work with the redbud tree issue as we never had any of those in our yard. Also, thanks for your comment on my recent post, visitors are always appreciated and welcome.

What an interesting bunch of stuff on that poor tree. I have never seen that before. Your photos are always so nice. So does your keto bowl. Isn't keto the best? It has changed my life.

That fungus is weird! I planted a young redbud a few months ago and am trying to nurse it along. I love a good keto bowl! Yours looks great. Thank you for linking up and have a good weekend.

Hello! Good to hear from you.
I agree that hamburger looked so good without a bun.
Also, that fungus was so weird - but I can imagine that being a man's face with a beard.

Wonderful post and lovely photos. I am fascinated and love nature, and I really don't get to see dragonflies often living in a big city like Montreal. Thank you so much for sharing.
