>and so it went<

Above shot from our trip to Lake DeGray for the cousin reunion.

Last Sunday morning, we had church on the front porch because the entire building was full of wasps. This warm weather is fooling around with them...Do we hide, or do we play?    Actually, the fresh air added to the sermon, and it ended up being a really nice service.  It made me think about the old days of brush arbors and what that must have been like.
Nothing like singing Amazing Grace to the cows across the way.  I'm sure they got a blessing.  I know I did.

Just another shot of the moon

the Beaver Moon

This butterfly fits right in with the fall colors

Some folks just like their buns burnt. In the background, the kids were playing dodgeball with the baggo set.    All in all, a pretty nice week..if you ignore the two dreary days of rain and the above average temps.)

Fingers crossed, summer has finally gone to sleep.

  2. My pastor took a drink and it had a wasp in it, he carefully spit it out and walked it outside. He had a headset on and never turned off his mike, not even a whimper. I laughed and told him people might have been shocked at what I would have said.LOL

    1. Oh, I get downright crazy when a wasp comes out of the ceiling (we have an old church full of wasps in the attic). I head for the door until someone kills it. Our preacher is allergic, but he bravely swats at them. There were just too many to even try to have a service last Sunday. I did enjoy being outdoors though- it was really nice.

  6. I just love this post, everything is so interesting. I am a fan of random. I have a friend who will not eat burger/dog buns without toasting, this is a great way to do it for just herself. that video is amazing about the moon, saving it for hubby to watch.

  8. Hi, I love your pictures. The moon shot is incredible. When we were kids, our Sunday School teacher would often take us to her cabin on Lake Lanier and we would have Bible study on the dock - it was very sweet. We had two very dark/rainy days also and now our trees are bare. Getting cooler too. I know you will miss your precious Mother especially during the holidays. I think of you often and whisper a prayer for you. xoxo

  11. Hello, your moon images are wonderful. That is strange about the wasps being inside the church. Pretty butterfly capture. Yum, the campfire food is delicious. Enjoy your day and weekend!

  12. It's such a nice time of year...not too hot but not cold yet either. You live in a beautiful part of the country , but then I'm partial to where you live! Love those colorful pumpkins and the photos of the moon...WOW! Hugs!

  14. I can't imagine. We got seven inches of snow last Sunday and we had to shovel the ramp to the door of the church before Sunday School and again before services began! Crazy weather this year for sure. I'm terrified of wasps and bees since I was stung last fall. I ended up being carted to the ER in an ambulance because my breathing was so bad. Now I run for the hills when I see one!
    Blessings,

  18. A fun set of randoms! We haven't had trouble with wasps - but the warm weather seems to have given us a bumper crop of ticks (ugh).

  22. So glad to hear from you. I know how hard it was losing your mother. Mine has been gone since 1991 --and I still miss her..... Blessings on you.

We have had a very warm (WAY too warm) Fall also --and some of our Spring Shrubs have bloomed NOW (Rhododendron, Azalea)--and I noticed that the Clematis was blooming again... CRAZY weather for sure...

Great post --and I'd love having worship outside....

  23. How great to come here and see so many of my blogging buddies comments. I love your photos. A church service outside would be fun, I can't see it happening here in the UK, the weather is too unreliable. Thanks for the comment on my blog.

    1. I don't know how the top photo got so big..it took me forever to even figure out how to put a photo there. But my other photos- I change the width and height in the html section (coding) when I make a new post. Plus, Im half blind so I like big photos. :) Width is always 810 and height varies, but normally I make it 575. If you want to do this and need help- email and I can tell you more.
