I'm on day 8 of the worst barking cough crud I have had in years. Miserable. To make matters so much more fun, Mark also has it. I finally made it to the walk in and got some (I hope) good cough syrup, cause let me tell you, that OTC stuff does not put a dent in this mess. (It's been so long since I have had a cough like this that I was hoping for some cough syrup with codeine.) Now that stuff worked miracles. What I got was something else, but I won't complain unless it don't work. Of course, like many others, there are no names on the back...nor dates. I gather from the rolled up jeans the time is probably the 1950's. I have photos with my mom and dad both styling like that. I zoomed in to the coca cola sign to see if I could trace it to a time frame. I never could find the exact ad, but again, think it is probably the 1950's.

Since this photo was in an envelope full of obit clippings and Sutton photos, I think the two men are probably related to me, but I'll never know.

Isn't it sad that so many of these unnamed photos are just lost over the years because no one bothered to label them? In all my years of ancestor hunting I cannot tell you how many times I have heard this same story. "My aunt left me all these photos, but none were labeled." These are the ones that end up in a museum, or in flea markets.

Sharing with Alan at Sepia Saturday.

I'm declaring summer is over.

Bring it, Fall!

Questions from Tuesday 4

Let's talk about...Music

1. Can you name songs that remind you of autumn , spring, winter or summer?

Autumn- The Hey Song, any high school marching band

Spring- I Can See Clearly Now

Winter- No particular song, but nothing screams winter like Christmas music...to me, anyway.

Summer- All Summer Long

2.Do you like background music when eating or shopping? Do you play background music at home?

I like to hear certain background music when I am shopping , but ixnay on the "elevator" tunes, please. No, I don't listen to background music at home, but I do listen to podcasts and music playlists while I walk or work outside.

3.Christmas music begins playing some places as early as November just before Thanksgiving. Do you have a favorite Christmas song? If not, how about any seasonal song that you love?

My favorite Christmas tunes are sung by Gene Autry, Nat King Cole, Burl Ives...all the great classic ones.

4. Songs bring back memories. Would you share a song that triggers memories, good or bad, for you?

Carry on my Wayward Son & Stairway to Heaven are two that I always feel nostalgic when I hear either. A couple of my favorites from the 70's.

Just something a little different today,
sharing with Anne
