Higgledy-Piggledy

Randomness from my world...

A Banded Kingfisher -  first sighting for me,and lookie there...he is sitting on a fence just for
 Tex's Good Fences!

If you missed my last post, the guinea snatchers apparently were bobcats, not cougars. My son captured them on his game camera...looks like a mama and three cubs.  Mark says they can climb trees.

Thankful today that I am finally feeling much better, thank goodness.  I don't like being sick and then to top it off I broke my toe, and was down for another few days..right here at peak Christmas shopping time.  LOL! Hugs to my patient husband who has braved shopping with me to get it all done.  YAY!

While housebound, I discovered a super tool for facebook- called FB Purity.   (read about it here)  it has made facebook a joy to read instead of a nightmare.

If you aren't in the holiday spirit yet, try a different take on a favorite Christmas song...I love this new group.

  2. Ooooh, bobcats! That's not good, especially for your guineas. Ouch on the toe! I know how that feels and hubby knows from many encounters with the bed frame.

  13. Hope you recover quickly from hurting your toe. Sometimes little injuries like that hurt more than losing your arm. I speak metaphorically since I've never lost an arm, although some critics who've seen my art might think I have.

  22. Ouch! This is not a good time to break your toe. So sorry. I hope you mend quickly. I do love the bird photo and the fb thing sounds great, but I'm not on fb with a personal account. I have no regrets about that, from all the ridiculousness I hear from others. :-)

  25. I am sorry you have been feeling bad...I missed it somehow. I know there are bobcats around here, but I have only seen one in my life!

BTW, great capture of the kingfisher. They are a shy bird...or all I have seen are.

  30. That Kingfisher is beautiful. I'm thinking a broken toe really hurts. Don't forget to soak it in epsom salts. That will help with the pain.

  35. Aren't the Kingfishers cute, and noisy. We have one that hangs around the pond. I love to see him. Glad you're feeling better. Hope your toe gets well quick. Poor Guineas. Our biggest threat are owls at night. One swooped down this morning just about daylight and scattered guineas everywhere, but didn't catch one.
