  11. My dad had a herd of cattle that he kept in the timber part of our farm. The cows always knew where the coolest part of the timber is and in the winter they could find a low valley area where it was sunny and warm.

  17. funny how cows are a lot bigger than what they look out in a pasture lol! growing up I had an uncle who had a dairy farm & grandparents who had farms so we were always around cows , could be why no matter where I am if see a cow I've go to stop & take a picture lol!

  39. I'm sure the dark color of their hides really soaks in the heat from the sunshine! Most of the cattle we see around here are pastured near creeks, so they have a place to wade on the hot days.
