Macro Blooms

Laverne is finally back -four years after I moved her!  This hydrangea came  from my best friend's mother's yard, taken after she passed in 1990.  I've had to move her three times, and this last time, I thought she wouldn't make it.  But finally- I have blooms!!

  16. So glad you didn't give up on Laverne. Plants are funny sometimes about where they put their feet.

  17. I love the purple ones. The white tips remind me of those lamps from the 80's/early90's that had the... I guess it was fiber optics? Anyway, the tips of the "flowers" would light up, and change color. I think the one I had played music too.
Thanks for linking up at the Macro Monday Mixer.

  28. The pink pom poms look like they've been sprinkled with fairy dust. My grandmother had hydrangeas and I know they grow well here. My mom may have had some at one time. They're one of my favorite flowers! I love seeing all the varieties that are available these days, from green, to multicolored, but the old-fashioned ones like Laverne are still the best!

  29. Nice job. I have a hydrangea that is several years old and has never bloomed. It's my fault, sticking it where I did and then abandoning it. :)

  31. What beautiful, beautiful photo's of your flowers..just lovely! How I wish I could take photo's like that.
I've never been able to grow a hydrangia...I don't know if there is too much shade or too much sun. One way or the other they just look scrawny and then they wither away. ???
