Crows Abound

Nothing exciting going on in this shot- I just liked the composition.  I was watching the crows  behind this section of the fence.  They are well-hidden in that tall grass.  You can barely make out one in the upper right corner.
These two were grooming each other- that,
or just picking on each other out of boredom.  :)
Crows are actually pretty amazing-
here are some interesting facts about them.

Good Fences

  1. Lovely fence, they always intrigue me, Do you want to change to 2 columns? And in my last post, there are stunningly brightly coloured birds, so any identification is so appreciated. If you click on each photo, they are numbered. Cheers, Jean.

  6. Love your caption about the two crows. We have something similar to a crow in Texas, a grackle. They are always around restaurants and food store parking lots looking for little nibbles.

  9. 100 grasshoppers. Wow. I love crows even more now than I used to. I love how they collect colorful and shiny objects to present them to their mates. That is just too cool.

  16. I like them all, too. I like the brace between those two posts and the way they have the wire twisted to keep the posts tight....not the right words but my mind is just a blank this morn. I just think it was innovative the way they did it.

  19. The crow is such a larger bird when you compare it to others in this world. I look twice sometime to think they are red tailed hawks. They are a problem in the capital city here.

  24. Wow, those were amazing facts. Thanks for that link. Guess that is where a "murder of crows" comes from. Funny about the no penis thing and that in spite of that the males are unfaithful.

September is passing quickly. Happy soon to be Fall.
