Friday's Wrap Up

A large gang of red wasps have chosen our camper to be their new home.  They got into the water heater vents, the gas compartment, both a/c units, both vents for the refrigerator, and various other nooks and crannies.  After four cans of RAID, and pulling off the nests, I still see them on the camper and buzzing around, so I guess they are trying to have the last laugh. They flew up high on the end eave and made another nest...sort of an in-your-face strategic move.
Red wasps rank second to snakes on my list of "creatures that scare me to death".  But since I haven't ever been bitten by a snake and I have been stung by red wasps, I may have to move them to spot #1.

Tuesday was jury duty day and Wed was mammo day.  I have been thoroughly examined.  I was cut from duty- I don't know why but I think  because I knew one of the attorneys.  I hope my  mammo fairs better. If you haven't had yours yet- don't wait!

We saw the cutest fawns the other day when we drove out to the park.

I love those big ears- CUTE!  I was wondering if they were pets..because they were just hanging out in someone's front yard.  And because the neighbors had this fence, that looks deer-proof.

I'm having some trouble with my eyes- I'm doing too much squinting and then the inevitable headache, so I haven't been on the computer much.    Thank you all for visiting, and commenting.  I'm going to see doc the end of the month and with new glasses, should be back to normal. I'm going to try to catch up with everyone by then.

Have a great weekend!!

  1. the deer are so sweet. Wasps are number one on my fear list, snakes i am not afraid of unless poisonous.. at age 15 on the back porch of our church, one of the biggest wasp ever seen dropped down insdie the back neck of my dress, i was screaming because it was stinging me over and over and mother dragged me in a sunday school room, dragged my dress over my head and beat the wasp off with the dress. we had no AC or screens in the windows at the church, after The Attack, i would get up and leave church when a wasp started sweeping around in side.... a couple weeks ago, i told hubby, if you want your laundry done you have to kill the giant wasp that is hovering and find the nest. the nest was under the cast iron frying pan that hangs on the wall... they say know your fear and it will go away.... NOT TRUE... hope the new glasses help... i can relate to that to

  4. Wasps of any color score very high on the list for me too, although, I think the black ones hurt more. Cute fawns, lucky capture. I need new glasses myself, about four pair in varying strengths. (With a beeper-finder)

  6. Oh Terri! That's horrible! I don't mind bees at all but wasps are quite a different matter! Hopefully you can rid your camper of them soon! My physical is coming up soon...a little nervous about it, but it has been years since I have been so I am going. BEAUTIFUL fawns! I would love to see one in the wild!
    Blessings,
    Aimee

  7. The picture of the fawns is delightful. A bit like encountering our baby Robins. And I hope you finally get the upper hand on the wasps. Wasps are not fun! Also, I do hope you have better eyes, soon.

    Blessings and Bear hugs!

  10. Lovely deer, wasps, not so good, and new glasses, I have had mine for a few weeks, superb. And the Mammo, well you know when you are OLD, as they tell you :" This is your last one", I couldn't decide whether to be glad or sad. Hope all tests and glasses go well. Cheers,Jean.

  11. Those fawns are so cute. I read somewhere that when they're small they have no scent whatsoever to attract predators.

  14. I'm due for a mammogram too and have the script already. Best wishes with the eye exam; hope new glasses will alleviate the headaches. The fawn are so precious. I am afraid of wasps too. We rarely sit on our patio and we have to be super careful when we do go out there.
Take care and update us as you can.

  18. Red wasps sound nasty! Hope that you can get them to move on. The fawns are adorable. They seem unconcerned about having a photo taken.

  19. Oh no! I really feel bad for you with the wasps! I went through a similar thing with yellow jackets last Summer. *augh*
Thank you for reminding me to get my mammo done and over with! I hope yours is a good result.
Bill was going through east Texas today and saw a doe with twin fawns. It was a first for him. Your pictures are wonderful!

  20. Hi, Cute little fawns... Adorable!!!! Sorry about your wasp problem. Hope you can get rid of them.. Scary!!!!

I've had trouble with my eyes the past few months also --and I "DID" go to the eye doctor. I got new glasses --but still having trouble. I finally upped my resolutions on my computer --so that everything is bigger print. That has helped --but I still get those stinkin' headaches in my eyes at times... I don't think my eyes are 'right' --so may have to go back to the eye doctor sooner than later....????

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  21. Beautiful sky and cute critters! I work in the Circuit Clerk's office and we just sent out next quarter jury summons. The phone calls are pouring in. No one wants to serve. We are such a small county we rarely actually get to a jury trial, so I don't know what they are complaining about. lol Hope you had a good experience even though you didn't get picked.

  22. I love the twin fawns, and they look like perfect yard ornaments! (Except that they do tend to help themselves to the garden . . . .). I haven't seen any twins here this year but a few single fawns.
I got stung by yellow jackets last fall and it's no fun, that's for sure. Hope you can convince them to go far, far away.

  23. Not a care in the world!! Love fawns - wondering where is Mom - she shouldn't have been far away!!

  24. First off...have I ever told you that your background and blog header are adorable? They surely are
I was chosen a few times to sit on the jury...a couple of drug cases and an abuse case...didn't like doing it but, someone has to do it, I guess.
Another blogger sent this ORANGE CRUSH link and maybe you could make an orange cake and use sugar sub for your sweetie??

  26. Good Morning Terri! Hope your eyes get to doing better! We have wasps that have moved into CH's workshop.. they freak me out. I opened the door and one went speeding by me to get in. They are very busy in the wood above the garage doors. Adorable fawns but it hard for me to not hold it against them for munching on everything in our yard!

  33. I try to leave wasps alone on the theory of not making them angry and then they won't attack me.I must admit though that I don't trust them.

  35. Splendid fawns. I don't mind wasps as long as they take no notice of me, or leave when I arrive!

I have been having eye problems lately too but it comes on and off with my auto immune disease , frustrating when you can't see things clearly though isn't it.
