Tourist Stop

Scenic 7 - Arkansas Grand Canyon
I've seen the grand canyon many times- it is beautiful. But this time I was more interested in the shadow play on the old deck and fence.  The sudden return of 90+ degree heat and humidity might have played a small part in where I chose to stop and click, too.

  2. This wooden platform says" sit a while, enjoy the view, the coolness under a shady branch, and think of everyone who lingers here a while" Lovely shadows, Cheers,Jean.

  18. That's beautiful countryside. I googled it to see exactly where it is! I thought it might be around Hot Springs but it's not. I would love to go there next time we visit! Hugs, Diane

  19. LOVE that deck and rail--I would definitely build one like that if I ever get a log cabin (the house of my dreams)! Though 'our' western Grand Canyon is pretty, I think I would like yours better:)
Hope you get some cooling soon Terri; I've heard about the South's summers.
    Blessings,
    Aimee

It's so green there.... quite a contrast from our high mountain desert scenery.

    Have a nice evening...

  29. Beautiful, Terri, and I 'think' we have been there. Isn't this taken from Scenic Highway 7??? We love that entire mountainous area of Arkansas... Great photo.

  30. That is a grand view - I think trying to take pictures that do not look like all the others from famous places is always a challenge - and looking for small details like the fence is a great way to go.

Sorry for the delay in replying, I have been in the UK for a month and I let blogging take a back seat for that time!

  36. I have never been to the real Grand Canyon but this view would satisfy my longing for beauty any day. When I was young, we would travel from Ohio to SC to visit my brother, traveling through the Smokey Mountains on back roads. There was tiny place we used to stop where the folks who lived there had a deck built off their house in the back and people would stop and walk out into the most gorgeous view...they even had a recording made of what you were looking at to the right, left, etc. This reminds me of that place :)

  37. A pretty green Grand Canyon too! I would also be in the shade. Can't take the heat any more.
