Clouded Inferno

These are from last week- the end of a couple of weeks+ of bad storms that now are plaguing the northern part of the US.  This is the first time in years that I have had more than a fleeting thought about building a storm shelter. Fortunately, these were all talk and no action.  I just missed getting a shot of a pretty rainbow, so somewhere it did rain, but not much.

  1. These scary, stormy skies produce the most beauty, both before and after!! Here in New Jersey we have been having some real stormy weather and after super storm sandy, we are all a group of very cautious peeps!!

    Your images are really beautiful!!

  5. Is your home on a slab with no basement? If so, yes.... get a small storm shelter built. You may not need it this year or next, but dang.... it's peace of mind. xox

  6. What beautiful skies. The second one really does look like a fire in progress.
Sadly I only think of a new storm shelter during peak storm season. Kind of like the leaking roof syndrome.

  13. this is an incredible sky photo, these storms everywhere are so powerful. We recently watched a short program on 'storm chasers', with a few photographers from France, they showed footage of recent American tornadoes with shots of storm shelters, frightening all of it.

Worried about all those that are having weather related problems. My heart and prayers go out to them.

Have a good weekend, and stay safe.

  24. Beautiful photo for Skywatch, Terri. We got some rain off and on this week --with one storm being a little severe. The winds knocked down some of our lilies --but luckily, that was ALL... We do need the rain here --so we'll take what we can get.

    Have a good weekend.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  27. The beauty after the storm. It looks so lush where you are. So glad to hear the storms weren't so bad that they necessitated storm shelters. Have a wonderful weekend.
