    1. Oops, sorry about that..I didn't think about the size! The pigs are purebred, but only five girls out of 12..Not sure if any of the grands will show a boy or not. The last litter (Hamps botn in March) were all still born, so the kids are super excited.

    Jack & Ticker are handsome animals and such a nice photo of them.

  22. Birthday wishes too, Jack and Ticker by the pond, one to print and frame, picture perfect. I once saw a sow give birth to about 13 babies, and within seconds, literally, each one slowly crawled to the breakfast bar, latched on, and was enjoying glorious milk .Not one of my best moments, a splitting headache, the smell overpowering, but an experience I had not seen before, or since.     My Grandpa raised and sold Burkshire seedstock. My Mom's Dad had a few Durocs when Mom was young and my parents raised Yorkshires when I was really little. Sister and I always wanted to show pigs and never got the chance.

  32. First JELOUS ~ our hummingbirds haven't arrived here yet and I wait on them every year , usually here by the 21st , must be taking their time this year after the polar vortex hold we had here in New England this year ( forcast this week only in the 40's WHAT !)
    Second wow congrats on the 28 with your guy , is that the horses age ,he looks great.
    Third baby piggies ~ weeeeeeeee all the way home ...love them !

  51. I remember piglets from my teen years on the farm. We raised OIC hogs. Occasionally a litter would be so large that we'd bottle feed a couple in the house. I loved those sweet-smelling little piggies!
