There Sings My Soul

I love my home
my Arkansas
right outside my window
are views
that make me happy
every day
but there are times
like today
When life starts to pile up on me,
and I know a lot of you
love the sunny beaches
and sand between your toes
and that's great
but when I want to travel in my mind

I close my eyes
and these are the places I go...

I can almost see and hear the water rushing past
red rock- just breath-taking
the beautiful red salmon in the crystal clear mountain river
the rainbows over the falls
the snow capped mountains

see.......I like water too,
just hold the salt.

There Sings My Soul

you

  1. they are all breathtaking and the two larger of the photos are what i would love to see and hear and of course the bison..
i love all things beach, but I would rather see this than the beach.. because i have lived by beaches my whole life and seen way to much of them. what you have here comes under the heading of Awesome in my bucket list. i want to see Red Rocks and desert and on and on..

  9. For me, standing next to an ocean takes my breath away and makes me realize how vast this world is. Standing in front of a mountain view takes my breath away and makes me realize how vast our country is. One is as good as the other when it comes to making my soul sing... Have a great Sunday!! xox

  14. Oh, that I could visit those places, my soul would sing too. Ocean beaches are so great for a day, but living there would not be for me, mountains would be my first choice by far, house on a bit of a rise, looking out to fields below, green in summer, snow covered in winter, trees galore ,leaves changing colour, and animals free to roam where they want, safely. Dreams are free, Cheers from Jean

  18. Beautiful! These look like scenes I saw in Wyoming. My first choice of places to go though is the beach and salt water. But my second choice is the mountains like this.

  21. Absolutely stunning views.... Some days are Diamonds...some days are stone. I'm trusting that tomorrow will be a Diamond kind of day for you. Life can be difficult at times, but it's on the stone days that we realize how much God wants us to lean on HIM. Blessings dear friend...and thank you for the reminders through your pics...of how majestic God is.

  22. These are breathtaking! I would love to visit places like that. My soul yearns for the mountains most of the time.

  23. Life should learn how to deal out in small portions so not to pile up on anyone. Since it hasn't yet learned that, know that all of us are here with a willing ear to lend....and a shoulder to cry on....and a tissue to wipe those tears.

Beautiful pictures. I have never seen the anything even close to that in person....you are blessed to be able to look out your door and see that! I've only seen the ocean once....48 years ago. I wonder if it has changed. lol

Chin up....the sun will come out tomorrow....bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow, there'll be sun. Just thinkin' about tomorrow clears away the cobwebs and the sorrows til there's none....When I'm stuck with a day that's grey and lonely, I just stick out my chin and grin and say......tomorrow, tomorrow....I love ya', tomorrow....you're only a day away! (hope that worked the way it always worked for my daughter.) :)

  27. Good Morning Terri! I understand. I love the beach but I also love the mountains. Gorgeous pictures! If it wasn't for the elevations that aggravate my heart thing I would be near and in the mountains. A little secret, I would be in Santa Fe! The beach is second choice but I do love it. Never been to Wyoming but the solitude and beauty call to me.

  28. Oh yes, Arkansas is beautiful - and it's wonderful that your home makes your soul sing. In New England, we have both mountains and sea coast, I love them both, but it's the mountains and forest that call to me.

  29. The colors of the bluffs (do you call them bluffs?) are amazing -- painted. Also love the bison! xo

  31. It is nice to view the pictures you share. Home is always great but other special places can take you away to a better mood on good days. I like the North Shore of Lake Superior to remember and relax.

  33. I definitely love the beach--whether overcast or sunny (prefer the latter though), but I also LOVE the Mountain States and have spent some time at Yellowstone, Cheyenne and in the Jackson Hole areas. My heart and spirit seem to soar in such places too:)
    Blessings,
    Aimee

  37. Oh, Terri: such wonderful pictures! Running water; red rock mountains. Were Bison historically part of Arkansas, or did someone just bring in a few?

    Blessings and Bear hugs!
