Talimena National Scenic Drive

 I have been trying to find fall foliage within a day's drive.  We went up to Boxley Canyon a few weeks ago...way too early.  Trying again, on Veteran's Day we took a drive over the mountains in Oklahoma...so pretty, but it was the wrong time of day & too hazy for good photos. Lots of brown leaves too...  but a gorgeous day with gorgeous views, nonetheless.  If you ever get a chance, take the 54 mile drive, starting at either end.   Also, 259 south to Broken Bow is always beautiful, anytime of the year.


Everyone is born creative; everyone is given a box of crayons in kindergarten.  Then when you hit puberty they take the crayons away and replace them with dry, uninspiring books.  Being suddenly hit years later with the "creative bug" is just a wee voice inside of you saying "I'd like my crayons back, please."

  2. I agree that is an awe inspiring view, and the colors are still quite bright. I know what you mean about haze, sometimes if just dulls down a shot that otherwise would be drop dead gorgeous! This must be in the Ozarks??? I've never had the joy to visit OK, hope to someday now that we're retired. Thank you for coming by sharing your creative photography on the Weekly Top Shot, #109!

  10. That is a beautiful vista. There are ways to deal with the haze in post-processing. The only ones I know are in Lightroom because that's what I use. You can also put a gradient filter on your camera before you shoot. Either way, that is a gorgeous landscape.

  30. That's incredibly beautiful scenery -- if it's the wrong time of day, I can't imagine how lovely it would be when it was the right time. Beautiful Autumn!!! (We didn't see much Autumn color this year, because we were on the road and now we're in Florida and things are different here....so I appreciate all the beauty you are sharing here.)
