Weekly Top Shot & Weekend Reflections

I gotta quit wishing summer ( i.e.time) away, it is flying by fast enough as it is.  But truly, a perfect year for me would be spring, fall, spring, fall, and one week of Christmas.  LOL!

I am finally reaching that point in my life where I can say no, and not guilt myself into a coma over it.

Inspiring story here

I must be dense but I really just don't get Julia Robert's perfume commercial.  Diamonds hanging from thin air, tied to hands...and ??  I do love her smile though.

I'm slowly packing away my capris...<big sigh> .  I may hold out one or two pair to wear around the house. Thank goodness my yoga britches are waiting in the closet to take their place.

  1. The reflections and the water running over the rocks make this such a beautiful picture. It's so calming and refreshing....

I love your comment about finally being able to say no and not feeling guilty....I agree 100%...Have a great weekend...

  2. Lovely reflection, Terri. A year of just springs and falls sounds pretty good to me too. But I most of winter is rather tolerable too. It's those hot, muggy days of summer that I really don't like...maybe because I don't live beside a lake or have a pool in my back yard. :)

  3. oh that's a beautiful photo. we have a natural bridge here too! i'll have to be on the lookout for anything "buster" in the area!

  4. A very nice picture. Yes, time is getting away from us. I am glad that the summer heat is behind (?) us though. That commercial makes no sense to me either. I remember the first time I said 'no' and how empowering it felt. My capris got too big for me, love my yoga pants... and leggings. ;-). Have a nice day!

  5. There's so much beauty in the state of AR! I love this photo. We moved to Florida to enjoy more summer time weather....year round! It's been the best decision we could have made. I'm a summer time girl! Happy weekend!

  6. I don't like the crazy hot weather of summer and agree that spring and fall are really only the two seasons we need! LOL!
Yup, packing away my work capris. I won't need those by the time I am finished holidays. :(

  7. this is beautiful. i like the way it looks smooth as glass and like the water is not moving at all, but at the edge you can see it is moving

  8. Pretty reflections! I can relate to wishing time away - I really need to be more in the moment, even if that moment is hot and sticky. Yoga pants are great - I prefer them to capris anyway.

  9. Beautiful photo! I love how the curves in the water make the same curves in the reflections--so pretty and peaceful looking.

That's a wonderful thing, to be able to say no, knowing it's the best answer, and not feel guilty about it. Yay!

I don't want to wish time away, either, but I sure am looking forward to the fall. :-)

  12. LOL:) It's easy saying the word "no" once you've gotten rid of that silly feeling known as guilt. I learned to say "no" several years ago and it's wonderful. I agree with you on the seasons bit. While some bits of summer has its charm, the other ones are much more comfortable:)

  14. Lovely reflection.
I would NEVER wish away summer; it's my favorite season.
But, like you, if winter could be condensed into just one week at Christmas,
    that would be great.

  15. Lovely photo! I'm with you on the seasons, except that the only one I would skip over is winter. I love spring, summer, and fall (and Christmas too, of course!), but I don't care much for winter. :-)

  16. I don't get her commercial either. I wonder if she had a hand in making it, or if someone else wrote it for her? :)

  21. Beautiful photo I felt like I was right there !
Yes I am not a fan of weather over 75 degrees, and any humid days melts me.
I do enjoy the snow when it falls we had loads of snow last year and I loved it (course I didn't have to drive anywhere)
...but bitter cold drab days with old dirty lingering snow not my style either ! oops have talked too much lol

  22. I could totally leave out Christmas, love the spring and fall. I'm just glad our winters (for the most part) aren't as excruciating as our summers.

Love that photo! Looks so peaceful and I'll bet the sound is soothing, too.

  23. That is a stunning shot! Love the soft quality. I guess I don't watch enough television because I haven't seen the commercial. I'm torn between wanting the growing season to continue so my soybeans have a chance and just wanting snow to end the allergy season.

  26. lovely photo, JR's, I just wished they didn't airbrush so much...and it takes practice and an ever constant vigilance to stay in the moment I'm not very good at this...

  27. The beauty of learning to say no is that when you do say "yes" --it means you really want to.
    Haven't seen the commercial yet.
Love your idea of seasons. Oh if it were only true.

  28. This is a pretty picture. That was a very touching story of the man and his search for a donor for his wife. I think Julia has a gorgeous smile, too. I thought maybe it was just me that did not get her commercial! Wishing you a good weekend.
