Yes, he is quite different from his larger blue (or grey) Heron cousin. But a treat nonetheless. Here's hoping you get to see one — up close and personal (via you camera) would be email@example.comBears NotingLife in the Urban Forest (poetry)

Lovely shot of this beauty. I do love herons.
Lovely just look at the way they stand so still, ready to pounce .Great Shot!
...and they're quite an elusive bird. So, you did good spotting it!! They are indeed GORGEOUS. [they also go into a 'white morph'---all white, and then, they're very difficult to distinguish between the egret ---if you see a white 'egret'...make sure you check the color of the beak...it could very well be a little blue heron in white morph]
What a sight. Beautiful shot! :)

Well, you've introduced me to a new bird with this post. I've never heard of a Little Blue Heron. At first, I thought you meant that it was a juvenile Great Blue Heron, but it looked too mature for that. So I looked it up. Very interesting. Thanks for your visit to my blog today. It's much appreciated.
So pretty ~ he must have long legs!! LOL!xo Catherine
