Project 52, Week 25 ~ In & Out Side My Window

I thought maybe Tanager, but not sure. First one I have ever seen around here.

There's nothing for it- sometimes you just have to fall down and roll around till the itch quits itching.

The purple martins are still busy feeding their babies.  A few sneaky ones have discovered the show pig's feeders.  My daughter has been watching them fly in and out of the hog pen.  They are snitching high protein show feed.    I'm already getting dive-bombed by the parents when I mow...wonder what these super fed babies will do?

Don't look at me like that.  You know you aren't supposed to be up there...It's not my fault half your posterior is hanging off the window ledge.  The last time you tried this you popped the screen open and fell out the window, remember?

  2. Hi there - nice mix of pictures - cant be of any help on the bird ID - sorry!

I not sure that Furphy water tanks made it to the USA - it would be a good find if they did.

  10. Fun collection, Terri. We had a similar incident with a cat in a window a few years back - she fell from the 2nd floor then ran off Intothe woods. I don't think she ever made that mistake again. I love that rolling horse! Have a great day!

  19. The rolling horse is great, as is the caption you put underneath the cat. We had a cat that could get out windows too by leaning on screens and having them pop open.

  34. Yep, Summer Tanager to be exact.

I've seen these 'new fangled' martin complexes and marvel at them. I've also read somewhere that they would not still be around if it weren't for these 'houses'...so, you're doing nature a real big favor!!

Love the horse roll. They always look like they so enjoy the 'feeling'...ecstasy!
