2012 ended with rain, and hail,
and straight line winds
which tore the shingles off of my roof,
and finally...
with snow.
December was a bad month-
injuries, internet problems,
rampant flu, more injuries,
water pouring in my house
in the middle of the night
waiting & waiting
on the claims adjuster.
I am not sad to see the end of 2012.
but..
I could have handled it all better.
Patience..
my word for 2013.
I need it badly, along with
a huge serving of
gratitude.
The kids in their mobile homes
were safe.
Everyone is recovering from the flu.
The insurance guy did finally come and
it looks like everything is covered.
Injuries are healing.
The drought is not over,
but we finally did get
rain.

Lovely post, I hope that Patience & Gratitude will be good words for you this year. Love the picture you linked to PAF. Happy New Year.

What a year for you. No wonder you were pleased to say goodbye to it. Well here's hoping 2013 is your year.
ReplyDeleteWow, December was a bad month for you. Here's hoping 2013 will be a much better year for you.
ReplyDeleteDecember wasn't the best month for me either. I need to work on patience and gratitude too.
Oh boy, December sounds like a doozy - here's hoping 2013 is much nicer. Patience and gratitude are things we could probably all focus on a little more. I've been thinking about what my "word" will be for 2013 and haven't quite decided - so many, many things...
ReplyDeleteTerri! oh! that was not a great bunch of events in 2012 for you. Keep smiling and keep a positive attitude. Love ya, Renae
ReplyDeleteSo sorry that December was so hard for you all. I hope and pray that 2013 is BETTER. We had alot of rain in December also--and no snow much... Luckily though, we had no damage from the storms...
ReplyDeletePATIENCE has always been one of the hardest words for me to follow. I try--but it's not easy. Good Luck.
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
Terrible end to the year. Here's to a better new year!

ReplyDeletesorry to hear about you last year problems! wishing you much better 2013!!!
ReplyDeleteI guess we all need to conjure up some patience once in awhile but I can surely understand where yours might be wearing a little thin. Sounds like your plate has been awfully full.
ReplyDeleteWishes for brighter days ahead.
Hugs!
Patience is something most of us could use a LOT more of. I sure do hope 2013 is better for you than 2012 was!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping that 2013 is a much better year and that you have far less need of patience!
ReplyDeleteGreat words and photo.
ReplyDeleteI am glad things are getting better, I wish you all the best in 2013. Happy New year to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteGreat word.. I could seriously do with a healthy dose of the stuff ;)
ReplyDeleteMollyxxx
Good heavens......no WONDER you picked PATIENCE! Most of us would be running away screaming!
ReplyDeleteI like the image you used under the word and the 'raining cats and dogs' at the bottom. Kinda says it all!
Wishing you a calm and patient 2013~
That's a lot to happen in a short time! Glad you're over the flu (or getting there) and your damage is covered by insurance. Perhaps this year will be a bit kinder.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! What a terrible series of events, but glad that all is covered and/or improving. I'm praying and hoping that 2013 will be better, because 2012 was pretty bad for us and so many others we know.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry! It's just gotta be uphill from here on out!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping 2013 is much better for you. It was a tumultuous year for me too so I'm looking forward to a quieter '13. Lucky 13 perhaps?
ReplyDeleteYou know I saw two others that are going to use the world patience - I think there is something to it.
ReplyDeleteYou made it and with patience we will survive, especially when you have friends like this who appreciate your work;)
ReplyDeleteWow you did end the year with a few trials there but thankfully you came through it with new hope and a positive attitude. I like your choice of the word Patience, something we can all have need of at one time or another.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, I hope you have a better January!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing with Photo Art Friday!

while getting inner peace.

ReplyDeleteglad for the healing, too.
enJOY!!
So sorry about the roof! We had to put a new roof on in late 2012. I was not sad to see 2012 go. I had the flu the last of December and got rid of it enough to taste Christmas dinner.. :) Hope 2013 is good to you! I hear you about the drought!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your roof. Let's pray 2013 is a better year for all of us.

ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible (I had another word, but thought better of it) way to end your year...no wonder you want 2013 to begin. It is pretty difficult to have patience when so much is going on. Big hugs and big wishes for a better year ahead!!
ReplyDeletePatience seems like a dangerous word to focus on...but a good word too!
ReplyDeleteEpiphany is my word for 2013. I'm excited to see God revealed in new ways in the coming year.
