Dolls, Dolls, Dolls

Can't help it- I have to repost this Sepia Saturday photo from last year- it's one of my favorites.

This week's theme is Dolls- and don't you just love the line up on the porch?
It was a family photo, and the girls brought out there dolls to be included.

  1. What a great photo. I just want to linger longer and take in all the details. I love that the dolls have their own furniture too.

  2. I didn't notice the dolls at first. When I took a second look I saw them; very sweet! Everybody is included in the picture, the dolls and the horse. Do you know where and when this photo was taken?

  3. I’m glad you re-posted as I missed it first time round. It’s lovely that the girls wantd their dolls in on the picture. I’ve seen this before in old photos - a bit like showing off, which of course little girls like to do. It’s interesting though that they are lined up on the porch away from their owners, more like trophies than loved playthings. I suppose it was just the era.

  4. It's cute the way the dolls are sitting in chairs by themselves, and there is an empty full size chair at the other end of the porch.

  5. What an interesting photo. The people, the dolls, their little chairs, the horse, the house. There is a story there!

  6. I remember this photo but it is so classical I double love it. Of course way out on the prairie the dogs work so not pets that left dolls for pretend and fun time. This was great. Many themes in this photo.

  13. It well deserves a second posting. Now I look at it again I remember it from last time, but it is just as fascinating a second time over. Old photographs as art - perfect.
